France vs England
March 27, 2008So its another England friendly with Capello’s second game in charge, playing:
James
Brown, Terry, Ferdinand, A.Cole
Hargreaves, Barry
Beckham, Garrard, J.Cole
Rooney
which in my books is a wrong formation as Rooney is not scoring alot at the moment and needs a partner to link up with which means the other three players need to support but Beckham has a low fitness level and cannot support easily. The final score is 1 - 0 to France, I mean we didnt really expect to win it as we haven’t beaten France in over 59 years. Either way England put in a dissapointing performance showing they are only bothered about the League with all Terry, Rooney, Cole and Brown going off at half time
it wasn’t a bad performance in the first half imo but we’re just not a good enough team atm
we need to develop better youngsters who have a good touch and are actually capabe of putting the ball in the back of the net
if we are to play this formation rooney needs to be where gerrard is with gerrard in DM. Fuck Lampard
however, i think our actual team should be:
Green
Brown Ferdinand Terry (c) A.Cole
SWP Hargreaves Gerrard J.Cole
Defoe Rooney
Subs: James, Richards, Barry, Bentley, Lampard, Crouch, Owen
Becks is too old (James is a GK so its ok) for the next world cup and Defoe is currently on fire.
Rob Green was also very consistent for the first half of this season and, given time, would be very good for England imo
